SICOM 2026 Welcome Message

Dear colleagues and friends,
On behalf of the Organizing Committee, it is my great pleasure to welcome you to the SOMS International Conference on Obesity & Metabolism 2026 (SICOM 2026), to be held from November 26 to 28, 2026, at the aT Center in Seoul, Republic of Korea.

SICOM 2026 will be held under the theme “Deep Dive into the Next Tide of Obesity Science.” This theme reflects the exciting transformation currently taking place in obesity medicine, driven by advances in incretin-based treatment, oral and next-generation therapies, cardiometabolic science, nutrition, body composition, and lifespan-oriented care.

This year, we are especially honored to welcome three distinguished leaders in global obesity medicine. Professor Volkan Demirhan Yumuk, President of EASO, will deliver the Plenary Lecture on the evolving international obesity guidelines. Professor Louise A. Baur, Past President of ICO, will give a Keynote Lecture on childhood obesity and the importance of early action for lifelong health. Professor Kyoung-Kon Kim, President of AOASO, will present a Keynote Lecture on next-generation oral therapies for obesity care.

Together, these highlight lectures will offer timely perspectives on the present and future of obesity science, from global guidelines and early-life intervention to innovative pharmacotherapy.

The program will also feature sessions on obesity in the Asia-Pacific region, precision treatment strategies, new hormonal targets, cardiovascular–kidney–metabolic and liver outcomes, muscle preservation, healthy aging, and emerging indications for incretin-based therapies.

We sincerely hope SICOM 2026 will serve as a meaningful forum for scientific exchange, clinical learning, and international collaboration. We look forward to welcoming you to Seoul.

Warm regards,
